2026 Abstract Terms & Guidelines 

In the lead up to the 2026 Osteopathy Conference, we are pleased to accept abstracts across the diversity of osteopathic practice. A preference will be given to applicants submitting abstracts in the below fields and applications are restricted to a limited number of places on the program:

  • Strength and conditioning
  • Paediatrics
  • Exercise rehabilitation
  • Women’s health
  • Neurology/Concussion
  • Musculoskeletal back, neck, hips, knees, shoulders
  • Chronic pain
  • Research
  • Technology or business management in osteopathic practice

Presentation types include:

  • Workshops
  • Panel discussion
  • Lectures
  • Research presentation

Presentation duration times include:

  • 15 minutes – any research paper presentation
  • 30/60 minutes – set aside for lectures/discussions. 60 minutes session must include interactive and practical components
  • 60/90 minutes – set aside for workshops, with a majority of content practical based

Video submission requirements

  1. If you are submitting an abstract, you must also submit, via the method outlined below, a short video. The video should be no more than 60 seconds in duration. If selected, your video will be shown on the Osteopathy Australia Facebook Member Forum and other social media platforms.
  2. The evaluation of your video will focus on the content outlined in the points below, not on its quality or technical production. If a video is not received by 20 February 2026, your abstract will not be considered.
  3.  You cannot submit a video through Oxford Abstracts, the abstract submission portal. Instead, you are to share the video via a cloud link such as Google Drive or Dropbox. The link is to be sent to [email protected]
  4. Your video must address the following points:

- Who you are and the area your abstract is covering

Who your abstract is targeting

- How you believe your abstract benefits the delegates and the profession as a whole

Abstract submission guidelines

  1. All fields marked with an asterisk must be completed.
  2. The presenter and the author must be the same person.
  3. The author is responsible for the accuracy of the abstract.
  4. Clinical practice abstracts must have action/implementation guidelines for clinical ideas/methods.
  5. The Speaking Engagement Agreement forms part of the conditions that selected presenters are bound by.
  6. Organisers will not be providing speakers with free conference registration.
  7. The acceptance of an abstract does not imply the provision of travel, accommodation, or registration for the conference, nor any costs associated with attendance at the conference.
  8. You must email a copy of your presentation, which may be distributed to conference attendees, to [email protected] by no later than 18 September 2026.   
  9. All commercial interests or associations an author may have that may pose a conflict of interest must be declared. If accepted for presentation, the commercial interest or association must be declared on the title slide or the slide immediately following the title slide.
  10. You agree to have your presentation photographed and/or filmed.
  11. You confirm that all authors have approved the submission.
  12. All submissions must be original material.
  13. The author/s agree to materially confine their presentations to information in the proposal submission if accepted. If the author/s have more than one abstract accepted, each presentation will be materially confined to the information in the abstract selected for the specific session.
  14. The abstracts will be reviewed by the Abstract Committee and assessed on the scientific merit and professional relevance provided in the submission. If there is insufficient detail or clarity in the abstract, it will be rejected.
  15. The Abstract Committee’s decision is final.
  16. Authors who make a presentation that contains material that was not included in the accepted abstract submission will be omitted from the Conference program for a period of three years henceforth.
  17. Abstract Submissions close at 5:00 pm on Friday, 20 February 2026, however, early submission is encouraged.
