North Canberra Osteopathy

About

Hi, I’m Anna, and I’m a paediatric osteopath. I help babies and children who are stiff and uncomfortable, or who aren’t feeding well. Most of my patients are babies, but I also see children up to age 12. I’m married with two awesome kids, and they’ve taught me a lot about how wonderful parenthood is, but also how hard it can be. When I had my first baby, I was pushed right to my limits. The mix of sleep deprivation, overwhelm and loneliness took me to some dark places. My baby wasn't even that unsettled compared to some of the babies I see in clinic, who cry for hours every day. Some new parents are coping with unbearable stress and distress. It doesn't help that hospital stays are so short, and particularly here in Canberra there's lots of new parents who don't have their own parents close by.
My mission now is to help these families, by helping their babies move freely, feed better, and feel comfortable. We see babies who are so stiff and tight and miserable, and some gentle manual therapy can make such a difference.
I became an osteopath in 1998, after completing a five year full time double degree in clinical science and osteopathy at RMIT, and did a further year of paediatrics training in 2011 at Victoria University. At our clinic in Hackett we look after babies, children and adults. We have baby change facilities, heaps of free parking, and full time reception.
