Communications and Marketing Working Group

The Communications and Marketing Working Group plays a key role in promoting and strengthening the profile of osteopathy across Australia. Our members bring their clinical expertise and passion for marketing, public relations, digital media and strategic communication to help elevate osteopathy’s presence both within the association and externally.

The working group's remit:

  • Input into engaging content and media opportunities
  • Brand ambassadors
  • Shape marketing strategies to promote osteopathy to the public
  • Strengthen brand presence across social media, Osteo Life. Osteo Talk and events
  • Advocate for osteopathy in healthcare discussions
  • Support the creation of high-quality marketing materials

Dr Adam Nicholson (Osteopath)

Adam completed his Master of Osteopathy in 2008 and has since focused his clinical work on treating children, supporting pregnancy-related care, and managing both acute and chronic conditions. As Director and Principal Osteopath at InTouch Health Co., he also lectures for allied health groups, mentors osteopathy students, and collaborates with local sports and dance organisations. A longstanding member of Osteopathy Australia, Adam has contributed to the Education and Editorial Committee to support the growth of the profession. When he's not in the clinic, Adam enjoys playing representative Oz-Tag and spending quality time with his family. 

Dr Tara Bain (Osteopath)

Tara is an osteopath with a strong drive to increase public awareness of osteopathy and its benefits. With hands-on experience managing social media for osteopathic clinics, she brings valuable insight into digital strategy and audience engagement. Tara is particularly passionate about strengthening the connection between osteopaths and general practitioners to broaden understanding and access to osteopathic care. Outside the clinic, you’ll likely find her lifting weights at the gym, on the soccer field, or enjoying live music with friends and family.


Dr Toby Barker (Osteopath)

A Dr Toby Barker (Osteopath)Toby graduated from the British School of Osteopathy and relocated to Australia in 2022. Prior to the move, he was part of the BSO teaching faculty and lectured in the Master of Advanced Physiotherapy program at the University of Hertfordshire. He has a keen interest in chronic and persistent pain, and rehabilitation, and continues to combine clinical practice with teaching and research. Toby recently published in the International Journal of Osteopathic Medicine and has served on the Editorial and Educational Advisory Group, helping guide the ongoing professional development of osteopaths in Australia.
