This valuable elearning resource provides a practical introduction to the key concepts practitioners need to be aware of when considering working with NDIS participants as well as understanding how osteopathic practice can meet the needs of participants in the NDIS.

Written by an NDIS advisory group, with the guiding input from seven osteopaths, NDIS the full set is packaged as a single and easily accessible resource, giving you access to modules one, two and three in a single eLearning suite.

  • Module one provides a practical introduction to the key concepts practitioners need to be aware of when considering working with NDIS participants

  • Module two provides an overview of your requirements as a provider of services to people with disability, including the additional regulatory requirements that apply when providing services to NDIS participants
  1. Understand the rights of people with disability and your responsibilities as a provider of services to people with disabilities
  2. Understand the role of the NDIS Commission and the regulatory requirements that apply when providing NDIS services
  3. Understand what to consider when communicating with people with disability and what resources are available to support effective communication
  4. Understand how to develop and maintain complaints processes that support participants to raise concerns and support quality improvement
  5. Understand the potential impact of disabilities on your clinical practice
  • Module three builds on the content in modules one and two but shifts the focus to understanding how osteopathic practice can meet the needs of participants in the NDIS. It does so by providing a closer look at the different roles an osteopath may be required to take on to support current and potential NDIS participants.
  1. Understand the various roles an osteopath may be asked to take on in support of an NDIS participant
  2. Understand the principles of good administrative practice when working with NDIS clients.
  3. Understand the role of participant goals as a foundation for planning capacity building support programs
  4. Understand how osteopathic approaches are applied in an NDIS context
  5. Understand how to communicate effectively with the NDIA, using appropriate language and outcomes measures
