Bracing Alongside Exercise and Manual Therapy: A Holistic Approach to Knee OA

Treating knee osteoarthritis (OA) as an osteopath involves a holistic approach aimed at relieving pain, improving function, and enhancing the overall quality of life for the patient. This webinar will explore the varying options clinicians can utilise when treating patients with OA. A key focus will be on the role bracing intervention can play, in conjunction with manual therapy, exercise prescription & pain management. Treatment for knee OA focuses on addressing the underlying biomechanical and structural issues contributing to the condition, while empowering patients to actively participate in their own care through education, exercise, and self-management strategies.

Learning objectives:

  1. Understanding Knee OA
  2. Role of bracing in knee OA management
  3. Bracing techniques and fitting
  4. Patient education and compliance
  5. Integrated multi level treatment approach
  6. Evidence of effectiveness of knee bracing
