Renewals 2023 | A Message from Michelle Funder

Dear Members,

Thank you for your ongoing support of Osteopathy Australia. Our association is committed to supporting our members, driving the profession of osteopathy forward in the Australian healthcare system, and advocating for our patients.

Belonging to Osteopathy Australia provides you with access to excellent support in continuing professional education, clinical support, business support, and more recently the launch of our employee assistance program (EAP). By being a member of Osteopathy Australia, you are supporting the voice of Osteopathy in Australia. Your membership allows Osteopathy Australia to advocate for osteopaths within the Australian Healthcare system making sure that osteopathy is on the agenda where appropriate to provide our members opportunities in Allied Health.

As always, much of the work done by the association happens behind the scenes, and, on this note, I’d love to share some of the key achievements of the past year and our plans for the future.

Enhancing the profile of osteopathy

Enhancing the profile of osteopathy in Australia sits highly in our strategic priorities. We have looked at this through the lens of consumers that don’t know what osteopaths are. We are thrilled to have worked with consultants on a brand identity project called Shake Your Pain Shadow. In the coming weeks we will be launching a full marketing strategy which will feature both on our consumer website whatissosteo.com.au, in social media and in the wider community. This will help our members see more clients and get greater professional referrals

Counselling EAP service

Osteopathy Australia has partnered with Converge International, a market-leading provider of professional counselling services for employees and association members. Our members get up to six free counselling sessions per year. Providing access for our members to this type of support is at the heart of our association.

Research Innovation

We are proud of our commitment to research in the osteopathic industry. Not only through our Research Committee providing grants and seeding grants, the association’s support of the Osteopathy Research Leadership and Capacity Building Program and our future PROMS projects and next phase of the ORION research project.

Renewing your membership enables Osteopathy Australia to continue to advocate and represent your interests as osteopaths while providing advice and advanced education to support your professional and business development.

Ours is a growing profession, and we have much to achieve to enhance and promote what we do within the allied health landscape. Join me in another exciting membership year!
