In late 2022, AHPA sought the views and experiences of allied health service providers for inclusion in a submission to the Parliamentary Inquiry on long COVID and repeated COVID infections. Submissions to the Parliamentary Inquiry closed on 18 November 2022.
The House of Representatives Committee report Sick and Tired: Casting a Long Shadow which was subsequently released investigates the experience of Long COVID in Australia and explores ways to better manage the condition and support sufferers. The report highlights the difficulty Australians with long COVID have with gaining a diagnosis and finding affordable accessible treatment for the condition. Osteopathy Australia and AHPA strongly support Recommendation 6 in particular, regarding management of the condition, including a review of the number of Medicare benefit items available for chronic conditions.

On 8 May 2024, the team attended an in-person National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) community catch-up in Sydney. Bill Shorten, Minister for NDIS and Rebecca Faulkner, CEO of NDIS, attended the catch-up and answered various questions from the audience about the NDIS reforms.
