Board Director nominations now open
Act now – nominations close 27 February 2025
Passionate about helping Osteopathy Australia to serve its members? Willing to volunteer your time to work for osteopathy? This is your chance! Osteopathy Australia is searching for dedicated, altruistic, individual to fill a vital Director position on its Board. Don Hunter is completing his term so now is your call to step up and lead!
The right person is altruistic, strategic, creative, a team player and a skilled osteopath who has something more to offer their profession. Being on the Board is a rewarding and mind-expanding experience. Osteopathy Australia provides our directors with appropriate training and skills development to ensure they become leaders of the profession beyond their Board terms.
To ensure board diversity, we are seeking candidates with any of the following to apply:
- Osteopaths with experience and knowledge in:
- university systems and education; and/or
- policy and government relations, and/or
- communications or promotions; and/or
- member engagement, recruitment, and retention; and/or
- information technology and AI; and/or
- legal or financial knowledge.
- Rural-based osteopaths - currently, Don Hunter is the only rural practising osteopath, and we wish to include the voice of our rural Osteopaths.
- Early career osteopaths and feel like you can contribute to the association? Put your hand up now.
- We welcome nominations from those working as associates, employees or outside of the traditional private practice, particularly female osteopaths, to reflect the 60% majority female profession.
- Preferably not a business owner (we have several already), and another vacancy will occur at the end of the year.
- Diversity in Board Directors is important to us and strengthens governance. To gain greater diversity the Board is enacting a power under the Constitution [Clause 30.3(a)(ii)] to set specific criteria to gain greater diversity in Directors.
Other applicants can apply but the nominations committee will preference applicants who can meet one or more of the above criteria.
Please read the Introductory Guide prior to applying as being a director comes with work and legal commitments. Being a director is a volunteer position and is not paid.
