Submission: Draft guide for primary and community healthcare standards February 2023
The Australian Commission for Safety and Quality Healthcare recently held a public consultation on the draft guide for Primary and Community Healthcare Standards (The Guide). The Guide is a tool developed by the commission to assist practices and individuals undertaking the implementation and accreditation to the Primary and Community Healthcare Standards.
Osteopathy Australia supports the development and use of the Guide however made recommendations on its content and useability. These recommendations include:
- ensuring all healthcare facility sizes are represented not just larger clinics,
- the development of other resources and templates for use,
- information on how the Commission will ensure accreditation consistency across accrediting agencies
- information on how to apply for ‘not applicable’ actions
