Our response to the draft National Allied Health Digital Uplift Plan

The Department of Health, Disability and Ageing, along with the Australian Digital Health Agency and Allied Health Professions Australia (AHPA), are working on a national plan to improve the digital capability of allied health practitioners. As part of this work, a National Allied Health Digital Uplift Plan was released for consultation and Osteopathy Australia made sure our community’s voice was heard.

As part of this work they have developed a National Allied Health Digital Uplift Plan which has been open for public consultation.

We have represented our members and provided feedback on this consultation in two ways including being participants in a targeted stakeholder focused group and via written feedback within an online survey to ensure that it appropriately reflects the needs of the osteopathic community.

Our feedback included that:

  • Digital health tools and services need to be fit for purpose and present value to allied health practitioners for engagement to increase.
  • Educational resources and support services need to be present and readily available.
  • The Government should provide incentives and subsidies to the allied health sector to encourage and support engagement with digit health tools.
