Submission: Recommendations for a fee review at WorkSafe Victoria
Osteopathy Australia’s recommendations for a comprehensive WorkSafe Victoria fee review - 2025/2026 financial year
As part of our ongoing advocacy efforts, we independently submitted recommendations to WorkSafe Victoria to conduct a comprehensive review of the osteopathy service fee schedule. These recommendations will be presented to the WorkSafe VIC Board for review to be included in the 2025/26 financial year business plan.
Our recommendations included to:
- Conduct a fee review based on market rates
- Equalise fees for the provision of like services and reporting requirements across different professions
- Create an item number for osteopaths for the completion of subsequent certificates of capacity.
- Create an item for injured workers with multiple accepted injury sites
- Review the Early Intervention Physiotherapy Framework (EIPF) and open the program to other professions
- Create an item code for osteopaths to provide group sessions
These recommendations were presented alongside survey data collected form the membership about average consultation fees and length.
We will continue to advocate for better fees and remuneration with WorkSafe VIC.
