On the evening of Thursday, 12 September 2024, The Australian Government announced the introduction of the new Aged Care Bill 2024 into the Parliament. Once the Bill is passed into law, the Aged Care Bill 2024 will become the new Aged Care Act. You can read the full media release here.
On Friday, 13 September 2024, Osteopathy Australia staff attended a Department of Health and Aged Care webinar on your behalf. The webinar outlined how the key changes will impact on the sector. During the webinar on 13 September 2024, Osteopathy Australia sought clarification to ensure that osteopaths are considered within the scope of clinical care. No questions were answered during this webinar. The Department of Health and Aged Care indicated a Q&A session will be held on 24 and 25 September. We will seek further clarification during this session and respond to the open Parliamentary consultation.
