This module is two of three in our NDIS eLearning series.

The module provides an overview of your requirements as a provider of services to people with disability, including the additional regulatory requirements that apply when providing services to NDIS participants. The module provides an overview of the various legal requirements you should be aware of before focusing in more detail on the specific requirements for NDIS practice.

This module then provides guidance about some of the additional complexities that might be involved in providing clinically safe and appropriate services to people with disabilities and how you might manage those to ensure you are meeting your obligations. This includes focusing on how to communicate effectively, how to manage complaints, and how to understand the potential impact of disabilities on providing clinical care.

Learning outcomes: Once you have completed module two, it is expected that you will:

  1. Understand the rights of people with disability and your responsibilities as a provider of services to people with disabilities.
  2. Understand the role of the NDIS Commission and the regulatory requirements that apply when providing NDIS services.
  3. Understand what to consider when communicating with people with disability and what resources are available to support effective communication.
  4. Understand how to develop and maintain complaints processes that support participants to raise concerns and support quality improvement.
  5. Understand the potential impact of disabilities on your clinical practice.
