Osteopathy & Neurodiversity in Kids

A practical approach to managing pediatric neurodevelopmental disorders

High Street Holistic - 60 High Street, Preston South, 3072

Sunday 30 November 2025 9:00AM - 4:30 PM AEDT

Treating Neurodiversity in Kids will provide concrete osteopathic tools to assess, manage and support children with ASD, ADHD, DCD (Developmental Coordination Disorder), hypotonia, sensory-motor dysfunctions and other neurodevelopmental challenges.

This intensive hybrid course has a strong clinical focus which integrates craniosacral, visceral, myofascial and functional techniques allowing you to confidently assess and manage complex paediatric neurodevelopmental disorders.

Renowned Italian paediatric osteopath Luisa Miraglia will provide up-to-date neurophysiological insights adapted to osteopathic care and explore real cases to give you practical treatment strategies for sensory-motor, autonomic, and craniosacral dysfunctions. She will also outline her collaborative multidisciplinary vision enabling you to work effectively within paediatric care teams.

Combining 4 modules of self-paced, focused online learning, a Q&A follow-up session, clinical case discussions and a day of live hands-on practice,Treating Neurodiversity in Kids gives participants the clinical reasoning, assessment, and treatment skills to address these complex conditions.

Learning objectives:

At the end of this workshop you will be able to;

  • Gain an understanding of Neurodevelopmental Disorders such as ASD, ADHD, DCD (Developmental Coordination Disorder) and hypotonia from an osteopathic perspective,
  • Discover the sensory-motor and autonomic components behind atypical patterns as well as early red flags in motor and postural development,
  • Explore CNS development and neuroplasticity, persistent primitive reflexes and motor dysfunction, sensory integration, postural control, and fascial/ANS involvement,
  • Learn a cranial, spinal, fascial, and visceral assessment for children with neurodevelopmental disorders, including an evaluation of primitive reflexes, postural asymmetries, vestibular dysfunctions and sensory-motor responses,
  • Learn an autonomic nervous system assessment (vagal tone, diaphragmatic mobility, cranial base, sacrum mobility) and important myofascial, and visceral involvement in neurodevelopmental delays and release approaches for motor and digestive function,
  • Learn how osteopathic mechanisms effect neurodevelopment including cranial and dural impacts on sensory systems, the vagus nerve, parasympathetic balance, and digestion,
  • Understand clinical reasoning protocols for managing Paediatric Neurodevelopmental Disorders,
  • Learn craniosacral therapy techniques for neuroregulation and sensory processing,
  • Explore real case studies with an emphasis on osteopathic strategies and multidisciplinary collaboration.
