This webinar will help osteopaths understand the important role we can play in preparing our pregnant patients for birth. We believe the role we can play extends beyond balancing the pelvis, muscles, ligaments and fascia. It involves a whole person approach, this includes the body, mind and pelvic floor. We will discuss treatment options, patient education, breathing and visualisation techniques.

Learning objectives:

  • Gain an understanding of what a physiological birth is
  • Educate your patients on pain during labour and tools for ‘working with’ the pain
  • Understand the importance of an active birth and ways we can create space in the pelvis
  • Education on ways to reduce trauma to the pelvic floor during a vaginal birth
