Many Australian health practices are not fully aware of the Intellectual Property (IP) that exists in their business and how to protect it practically.

In our experience with Allied Health Practitioners, we have too often seen unnecessary stress, expense and issues that could have been easily avoided with even a small amount of protection.

In this webinar, you will:

  1. Develop an understanding of what aspects of your business can and should be protected from an IP perspective.
  2. Learn about the most common legal oversights that Allied Health Practitioners make - and how to avoid them.
  3. Receive an IP checklist so you can do a stock-take of the IP in the business.

Learning Objectives

  1. Understanding of intellectual property (IP) basics and its relevance to osteopaths with their own clinics and/or brand.
  2. Identifying valuable intellectual property assets within the business and understanding how to protect them e.g. Logo, Name, Copyright etc.
  3. Understanding of what aspects of your business can and should be protected from a legal perspective.
  4. Further your awareness of the risks of not having adequate basic protection.
  5. Gain knowledge on why “Copy & Paste” Legal Templates may not be the cheaper solution.
  6. Learn the Top 5 most common mistakes/oversights that Allied Health Practitioners make when starting practice and how to avoid them.

The Presenter

Ian Aldridge, Founder and Principal Lawyer Progressive Legal

After a decade of practising as a litigation lawyer for small, medium and large firms in Australia and the UK, Ian returned to Australia disillusioned with the way Law was being practised at all levels, especially for small business.

While mixing with a bunch of entrepreneurs and small business owners, he found out very quickly that the advice they were receiving was either wrong or too expensive, but mainly both! The feedback he got was that people would rather go to a dentist than see a Lawyer.

Progressive Legal was born in 2014 and is changing the way commercial legal services are provided in Australia. The mission is to be the best provider in Australia.

Ian's father is a doctor and brother an occupational therapist, so he had a good head-start on the legal issues that the medical profession face.

Attendance will be recognised with 1 CPD hour
