Presenter: Associate Professor Bruce Mitchell
Most patients with chronic mechanical low back pain respond to exercise therapy and multimodal therapy. What can we do for the patients who do not? Associate Professor Bruce Mitchell will discuss the new protocol for low back pain as well as present the data on ReActiv8, a restorative neurostimulation for this cohort of patients.
About Bruce:
Associate Professor Bruce Mitchell is a Senior Partner of Metro Pain Clinics, where he works as a Sports and Interventional Pain Physician. He is also currently Chair of Monash Clinical Research and the Sports Medicine Australia Research Foundation and is on the Board of the Pain Research Foundation.
He is the past co-chair of Pelvic Pain Victoria.
He is a former National and State President of Sports Medicine Australia and former President of the ASMF Fellows.
He has Fellowships of the Australasian College of Sports and Exercise Physicians, The American College of Sports Medicine, The Australian Sports Medicine Federation, and a Fellowship of Interventional Pain Practice. He has completed a Masters in Pain Medicine.
In the last 10 years he has been an Investigator in 23 closed Studies and 13 current Studies and Principal Investigator in 8 closed studies and is the Principal Investigator in eight current studies. He has a long history of research in hip, pelvic girdle pain and low back pain.
He has also been the initial proceduralist on several “First-in-man” Techniques and Technologies.
His current interests are Cannabinoid Deficiency Syndrome, Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome III and the role of the Microbiome in Pain.
