Presenter: Dr. David Slattery

This webinar, by Dr David Slattery, an internationally fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon, specialising in complex pelvic, hip and knee surgery, looks at young adult hip and knee conditions.

David has published numerous papers in various orthopaedic journals on a variety of orthopaedic topics, and is actively engaged in ongoing research projects to further our knowledge of hip and knee disorders. He regularly teaches junior doctors, medical students and registrars. He greatly appreciates patient engagement with research as it is a key instrument in assisting the community to better understand and treat orthopaedic conditions.

Key to David’s practice is having a patient-centred focus, and tailoring treatments to suit the individual. He has a wide variety of open and arthroscopic surgical skills and is able to individualise treatment to match every patient’s unique problems. Communication is central to David’s practice and he endeavours to ensure that patients are actively engaged in the decision-making process at all stages of their treatment journey. He prides himself on being open and honest with patients and will do his utmost to ensure that they are engaged and that their expectations are met.

David currently operates at The Royal Children’s Hospital, St Vincent’s Hospital, Epworth and The Avenue Hospital. He currently consults privately in Hawthorn, Brighton, Windsor and Heidelburg.
