The maxim for the 2024 Women's Health Week is Your Voice. Your Choice. In keeping with this theme, this special all female collaboration forum, headed up by Beth Yule, will hear panellists give their insights into women's health, wellbeing and importantly, having a voice and choice.
Your panel host:
Dr Beth Yule (Osteopath) is a senior osteopath, possessing an unwavering commitment to helping individuals alleviate chronic headaches, migraine, and related conditions. Her passion for this field began with her personal battle with chronic daily headaches and migraine, which sent her into an extensive exploration of holistic approaches, treatments and understanding, different health domains, their interconnections, and tailoring interventions.
Panellists:
Dr Daniela Aiello (Osteopath): Daniela is passionate about educating pregnant woman on their changing bodies and helping them to filter through the magnitude of advice on offer during pregnancy. With this extensive experience Daniela works to help alleviate pain through treatment and exercise.
Sienna (pronounced Shenna) Aguilar, Project Officer with the Australian Women's Health Alliance: With a background in applied social research, gender equity and the primary prevention of gender-based violence, Sienna also facilitates conversations with groups committed to systems change. Most recently, Sienna was the Senior Community Engagement Officer at the Immigration Advice and Rights Centre, a community legal centre in NSW working alongside health and community services.
Ashlea Christenson: Ashlea is a community paramedic and community engagement lead for HMS Community, Australia’s first community paramedic-led healthcare charity. Working in Melbourne’s north and the Macedon Ranges, Ashlea's work largely focuses on preventative health using therapeutic listening with a person-centred approach.
Alexandra Lopes, Physiotherapist: Alex’s passion is to improve pelvic health outcomes for every Australian man AMAB, woman AFAB, and child, and all genders and sexualities. Alex is cisgender, she is actively involved in national and international education for pelvic health education and awareness at a professional and public level.
Anja Nikolic, CEO Australasian Digital Health: As the former CEO of the Australian Physiotherapy Association, Anja now heads up the membership body for Australasia's diverse digital health community. Anja takes a keen interest in health policy, healthcare workforce issues, and practical solutions to making healthcare more accessible, equitable and impactful.
Attendance will be recognised with 1.0 CPD hour.
