NON-MEMBER ADVERT: Osteopath

Our Senior Osteopath has resigned to take a position closer to family, so from end of November 2023 we will have a full time position available at our brand new city centre practice. Enjoy being part of a growing, dynamic and fun team with great admin support and lead clinical mentors to assist with your development. We have an above industry standard level of mentoring, career progression pathways & support.


We are seeking Osteopaths who:

Ideally have dry needling training
May have an interest in or further training in Craniosacral Therapy. Our Director, Suzanne Rath is Upledger trained in Craniosacral Therapy and Somato-emotional release and can assist interested Osteopaths with further training, if this is an area of interest.
Have a gentle approach to treatment of conditions such as headaches and TMJ pain, as well as clients with chronic pain. Our Osteopath who is leaving has a large volume of these patients- however, we also have many clients who appreciate manips, rehab and other treatment styles.
Is a team worker who appreciates the benefits of working in a multi-disciplinary team to enhance clients’ overall health journey. These include: being able to refer for rehab/ strength and conditioning, orthotics, naturopathy, bone health classes, Occupational Therapy and more.
Are tired of working in a contract model: all of our therapists are employed, meaning you get paid for your annual leave and sick leave, plus get the opportunity to earn significant commission bonuses when you’re busy with patients. You’ll earn commission immediately in this role by starting in November.
Want paid Professional Development: we host 1-2 courses in Cairns each year, quarterly team non clinical training in topics such as leadership & communication, as well as weekly mentoring and inservice sessions. We offer a $2000 professional development allowance for full time employees (pro rata for part time employees).

The role

● The hours required for this role are completely negotiable - anywhere from 15 hours to 38 hours a week is fine for the right applicant (although our ideal applicant is wanting fulltime or close to full time employment)

● You will be replacing an existing fulltime therapist with a busy caseload that you will step straight into and not have to build up

● You will treat a mix of private musculoskeletal clients and we will assist you in building a niched caseload to suit a special area of interest

● Appointment lengths sit at 45 minutes for initials, with 45 or 30 minute follow ups depending on the type of client. There is scope for creation of 60 minute specialised consults, as we do with our Vestibular, Concussion & Breathwork consults.

● We will consider applicants with any level of experience

● Your level of experience will determine your salary package, and our existing therapists’ salary packages range from $36- $50 per hour, + super, with the chance to add an additional $20,000 - $30,000 in commission payments.



About the clinic

Wellness Embodied is a multi-award winning Allied Health practice with 3 locations in Cairns & 1 in Cooktown. You will be based in our new clinic (soon to open!) right in the city centre, with beautiful facilities and outdoor areas, as well as gym and brand new tech. As a full time clinician, you can make your room your own.

We have formal and informal clinical and non clinical mentoring and you will have a mentor assigned to you.
